Creative Circle Design Team March Blog Hop: Spring Fling

Hello and welcome. It's time for another Creative Circle blog hop and this month's theme is 'Spring Fling'. Although it will be Autumn here soon thank goodness for that cooler weather - flowers and spring is always a fun theme to work with. I have used a personal favourite set 'Falling Flowers' and the coordinating 'May Flowers' framelits. The floral combinations you can create with both these set are endless.

I have also used the 'Amazing You' stamp set and 'Celebrate You' thinlits dies from Sale-A-Bration to add a lovely uplifting sentiment and having the die cut is just stunning!

I first stamped out all the floral images with copic friendly Memento tuxedo black ink on copic blending cardstock and coloured them with copic markers. Quick and simple colouring and achieving a gradient effect to add interest.

Deciding on the composition was the hard part as wasn't sure if I wanted to make a floral cluster or a floral background and went with the latter. Being able to personal and customise the design is a great benefit with this set and having the coordinating dies adds even more creative potential and ease of use.

The floral images have been mounted and raised up with foam dimensionals along with the black strip white heat embossed sentiment. The leaves are free floating yet still raised as they have been adhered to the back of the main flowers. This was a good thing, as i was able to tuck in the black strip with the white heat embossed sentiment underneath and made it look more pleasing and natural. Allow some of the flowers and leaves to come off the panel and trim accordingly as this looks more pleasing and a custom made patterned background.

The amazing die sentiment has been die cut out several times - 4 times actually. By stacking them up it creates a chip board look and stands out so well. I first had a gold foil  for the sentiment and later went over it with the dazzling diamonds glimmer paper hence the fourth layer. The white with the bling just tied the whole design together and kept the clean and simple layout as the background was already colourful and rather busy.

The centre of the purple and yellow flowers have white and silver enamel dots for added bling and shine and also added white dots with a white glazed pen on the largest flowers to make them pop more.

This card was a lot of fun to make, though many changes but worth it in the end as it doesn't always come together the first time. I hope you have enjoyed and found inspiration. The sets used are truly versatile and allows so many design possibilities and uses. Be sure to continue hopping around from the list below and check out all the amazing creations with the Spring Fling theme.  Thank you so much for stopping by, until next time - Happy Crafting! :)
